6. Common for ages 5 and younger

Lazy eye problem

Symptoms are:-

1. An eye that wanders inwards or outwards

2. Eyes that appear to not work together

3. Poor depth perception

4. Blurred vision

5. Double vision

6. Squinting or shutting an eye

7. Head tilting

8. Abnormal results of vision or screening tests

Common tests & procedures

Eye examination:
Thorough eye exam is done to check for eye health, difference in vision between both eyes, or to check for a wandering eye.

Stereopsis tests:
To check how good the 3D vision is.

Visual acuity test:
Testing using pictures or letters in children 3 years or older can help assess the child’s eye.

Optical tracking:
A method used for measuring the eye movement.

Optokinetic nystagmus:
A test that can be used as a crude evaluation of an intact visual system.
